From the beginning of the Congregation in 1924, one of the major tasks of the Central Region (Ireland, England and Scotland) was fundraising for the costs of formation and training of the MSHR for missionary work.

Through the remarkable efforts of the sisters and the tremendous generosity of their benefactors the sisters were able to open 87 houses internationally between 1924 and 1997 joining forces with those in need in villages and towns throughout Nigeria, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Kenya, Mexico and Brazil, planting the seeds for renewal.
